I awake, still stunned by the absurdity of the UK voting to leave Europe.
A quick Kipling break:
“WINDS of the World, give answer! They are whimpering to and fro—
And what should they know of England who only England know?—
The poor little street-bred people that vapour and fume and brag,
They are lifting their heads in the stillness to yelp at the English Flag!”
What can I do to relieve my gloom? I know, look at dead fish.
I go down to the Toya fish harbor to get my prescription filled.
I buy an Octopus, which makes me feel better. It is an Octopus. Sometimes they are missing tentacles, which makes them Septopus or even Sexopus.
An’ forward tho’ I canna see,
I guess an’ fear!
Neil,
I share your disappointment and sense of bewilderment at the UK voting. The age split is also troubling. Next week will be interesting. I hope it won’t be even more distressing. Who knows what is ahead for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the othe EU countries? And, dear god, I hope that the UK vote doesn’t encourage the supporters of Donald Trump in the US,
Lew

And now we have a right stramash in the UK! The result of years of obeisance to the Gods of the Markets, especially those worshipped in the Square Mile, and an arrogant turning of a deaf ear to any noises from outside the metropolis. At least young Nicola is standing up well.
Incidentally – what happened to Ian’s measured comment? Do the Dirty Diggers tentacles reach into WordPress?
Bad business. Many Japanese are waiting for the Queen to show leadership.
“Incidentally – what happened to Ian’s measured comment? Do the Dirty Diggers tentacles reach into WordPress?”
Your comments are increasingly rune-ish. I need some help with this one. I get the Murdoch reference, is it that? but not the bit about Ian
Ah, those runes. For some reason Ian’s post has disappeared. There’s Lew’s, mine and yours – that’s three but it says there are four. A mystery. Is it something to do with that Pingback thing?
Hi thankss for sharing this
