Asked yesterday what I did not like about Japan, I had to think hard. I could only come up with:
- ATMs close at 6:00pm
- Post Offices and Banks closed at the weekend
- Way, way too much packaging, especially plastic bags.
On the last point there is one behavior in Japan that I have not seen in other countries, of which I totally approve. If you buy any product that comes in a plastic spray bottle, for example, kitchen cleaner, or in a plunger type plastic container, for example shower soap, then you buy a refill rather than the whole container over again.
This probably happens in all countries now. I like it.
Do you use a lot of Nivea? All that sunshine and all those typhoons, so damaging. What made life difficult for us was that we had to use cash everywhere and could only get it at 7/11 stores. Quite strange. Cash has almost gone from here, which makes begging an increasingly difficult thing.
Yep, I was in Japan for 5 years before I got a credit card. Did everything with cash. Did you notice that Scotland beat England!
Yes the great victory was noticed, and what everyone wants to know is who won the pre match fight n the tunnel – that Farrell has a bit of a berserker look.
